Paphos penalises 86 e-scooter riders
Paphos police conducted enhanced checks on road users for three days as part of a road safety campaign. A total of 270 violations were recorded during the operation. Among them were — 86 violations committed by users of personal mobility devices, including e-scooters.
One e-scooter rider failed a rapid drug test. In addition, police issued 66 fines for speeding. A further eight drivers were held accountable for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Two rapid drug tests were also carried out during the operation. According to police, the checks were aimed at preventing road accidents and identifying drivers and other road users who violate traffic regulations.
