Police in Paphos detain serial burglar of residential homes
Law enforcement authorities of the Republic of Cyprus have detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of carrying out a series of burglaries targeting private residential homes. During operational-search activities, investigators from the Paphos Criminal Department obtained strong testimony and evidence directly linking the detainee to several recent incidents in the region. The offender entered residential premises with the aim of stealing valuable property, jewelry and cash.
Based on the evidence gathered, the court issued an arrest warrant for the suspect in order to carry out further investigative actions. Police are currently checking whether the detained man is involved in similar unsolved crimes committed in the district recently, and are also identifying possible accomplices and channels used to sell the stolen property. Local law enforcement authorities remind residents of the need to observe basic precautionary measures and to check the proper functioning of security systems in their homes.
