Dozens of volunteers in Paphos joined forces to clean litter from a public area

A large-scale environmental clean-up of the park on Glyfada Street took place in Paphos, organised by the City Friends Club. Dozens of volunteers joined the initiative.

During the clean-up, participants collected a large amount of rubbish, some of which, according to the organisers, had remained in the park for many years. This, as noted, once again highlighted the need for a more careful attitude towards the environment and regular maintenance of public spaces.

The Chlooraka Cultural and Environmental Club also took part in the initiative. A representative of the organisation, Andreas Kyriacou, thanked the City Friends Club for its ongoing work to protect the environment and improve the quality of life in the region.

Special thanks were expressed to foreign residents of the area, including families with children, who actively took part in the clean-up. According to the organisers, their example shows that caring for nature and taking part in volunteer initiatives is a shared responsibility of all residents.

The organisers urged residents to treat the environment more responsibly, not to leave rubbish in public places, and to help keep parks and other public areas clean.
