Five delivery couriers injured in fight over payment for order in Paphos

On Tuesday evening, a mass brawl broke out in Paphos following a dispute over payment for a food order. Five delivery couriers were injured, and one of them was also robbed. At around 20:40, a 26-year-old courier arrived in the Mouttalos area to deliver an order. At the scene, an unidentified man and three other people refused to pay for the food and attacked the courier, throwing a stone at him. The courier reported what had happened to other delivery service employees, who arrived at the scene. At the same time, around ten unidentified men arrived in the area. According to the information available, some of them were carrying metal objects.

The attackers assaulted the couriers and overturned their motorcycles, causing damage to them. After that, four men drove away in a car towards Mouttalos. There, they encountered a 22-year-old courier who had just completed a delivery. Three men got out of the car and attacked him. The courier was robbed of cash and a mobile phone, after which the attackers fled.

Five couriers sustained various injuries and were taken by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital. After being examined by the doctor on duty, four were discharged, while another injured person remained in hospital for further treatment.

Paphos police are investigating the case on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a felony, conspiracy to commit a misdemeanour, taking part in a riot, robbery, causing bodily harm, unlawful possession and transportation of weapons, assault and wilful damage to property.
