Possible sewage discharge investigated at Timi Beach

Local authorities have launched an investigation following a complaint from beachgoers about the possible appearance of sewage in the sea near Timi Beach in the Paphos district.

According to beach visitors, signs of pollution were observed in the coastal area, raising concerns about the safety of swimming and the possible risk to people’s health.

Following the beachgoers’ complaint, Timi Deputy Mayor Yorgos Polykarpou inspected the site. Water samples were taken from the area for analysis and to establish the cause of the incident.

The results of the investigation should show whether sewage did in fact enter the sea and whether the incident is connected to the operation of local infrastructure.
