Nearly 1,000 Traffic Violations Recorded in Cyprus Over 10 Days
In the past ten days, police in Cyprus have recorded over 950 traffic violations, with speeding and drunk driving being the most common offenses.
According to the Republic of Cyprus Police, a total of 954 violations were identified during road checks conducted since December 23. Of these, 446 were for speeding, 164 drivers were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, and 69 individuals were fined for not wearing seat belts.
Furthermore, 53 drivers were penalized for driving without insurance, while 39 were caught using their mobile phones while driving.
In an official statement, the police confirmed that intensified road checks will continue across the island until January 6 to ensure road safety during the holiday season.
