10 people detained and 370 fines issued in Cyprus overnight
The Republic of Cyprus Police carried out large-scale overnight raids across the island, resulting in the detention of 10 people suspected of various offences.
Those detained included suspects accused of possessing drugs, burglary, illegal possession of property and violations of migration legislation.
Overnight, police officers checked 684 vehicles, as well as 849 drivers and passengers. In addition, inspections were carried out at 56 premises, resulting in six administrative reports being issued.
During the road checks, police issued 370 fines, including 63 — for speeding.
A total of 294 alcohol checks were also conducted, with 30 cases producing positive results. Of the 11 rapid drug tests, three were positive.
In addition, 18 vehicles were detained as part of the police operations.
