Zelenskyy thanked Christodoulides for supporting Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides for supporting Ukraine and its accession to the European Union.

In a post on the social network X, Zelenskyy mentioned the congratulations Christodoulides sent him on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.

According to Zelenskyy, it was during Cyprus’s presidency of the Council of the EU that the first group of negotiating chapters on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union was opened. He noted that it is now important to open all the remaining chapters.

Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is counting on continued support from Cyprus regarding its accession to the EU.

The Ukrainian president also expressed gratitude for other forms of support and said he hoped for expanded cooperation between the countries in other areas.
