Livestock farmers block entrance to Veterinary Services in Nicosia, demanding compensation

A group of livestock farmers staged a protest outside the Veterinary Services building in Nicosia, demanding compensation payments for those affected by the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak. The protesters blocked the entrance to the service’s building and called for the overdue compensation to be paid immediately.

According to media reports, the protest involves a small group of livestock farmers and animal traders who have still not received the payments to which they are entitled. It is not yet known how long the protest will continue.
