Erdogan: A 50-ship fleet under construction has made Turkey a combat-vessel exporter to the EU

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the country's national defense industry is now producing more than 50 warships. As a key achievement of this large-scale expansion of shipbuilding, he highlighted the historic delivery of the ocean-going corvette Cam Roman to the Romanian Naval Forces Command. The ceremonial handover of the vessel to European allies, as well as the commissioning of the sister patrol ship Koc hisar into the Turkish fleet, took place at the Naval Administration shipyard in Istanbul.

In his remarks, Erdogan stressed that, amid the collapse of previous security standards, real power is becoming the decisive factor in the world: «Those who are not strong on the battlefield cannot find a place at the table». The president particularly noted Romania's strategic importance for Ankara and expressed confidence that the new ships would significantly strengthen security in the Black Sea. He added that Turkey is not seeking regional conflicts, but will firmly repel any encroachments on its sovereign interests.
