Famagusta District Transitions to Paperless Operations

The Famagusta District Self-Government Organization (EOAA) has announced its decision to transition to a completely paperless document management system. This initiative aims to reduce waste, enhance security, and improve operational efficiency.

The EOAA stated that this decision aligns with their goals of sustainable development and environmental protection while also boosting productivity.

“The shift to a new era begins with our council members ceasing the use of printed paper,” the statement reads. From now on, invitations and attachments for plenary sessions will be sent exclusively in electronic form.

EOAA President Yannis Karousos explained that this policy will extend beyond council meetings to all departments within the organization. The plan includes a full transition to a paperless environment, which involves digitizing files and documents. This will enable easy access, secure storage, and efficient data management.

Digital signatures will replace traditional handwritten signatures, ensuring document authenticity and integrity while speeding up approval processes.

Communication and document handling will occur through secure electronic platforms, cutting down on both time and costs. Employees will soon undergo special training to become fully acquainted with the new digital processes and tools.
